Shadow has had the most heart-breaking start. She was found in a nearby field in a lot of pain and absolutely terrified. On further inspection she looked to have a broken leg. After a few days of trying, we managed to get her calm enough to catch, and she was immediately taken to the vets. After X-rays it was determined she has been shot in her front leg at close range. Her whole bone had shattered and with the amount of shot in her leg we knew nothing could be done to save it and the decision was made to amputate her leg. 

Despite this incredibly cruel start, Shadow is the most loving dog. She has come on so well in just a couple of months at Merlin's. She is really beginning to trust humans again, is great with other dogs, and is adapting really well since her amputation. We believe she is ready to find a forever home with a family who can give her all the love she deserves. Whoever adopts her will be so lucky to have found the most beautiful companion.
